Vliet Shipping C.V. ("we", "us"), registered at Debussystraat 2, 3161WD Rhoon, the Netherlands (KVK 87058413), is the controller of the personal data processed through this website and in the course of our logistics services. We process personal data in accordance with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
1. Data we collect
We collect the data you provide when you request a quote, book a shipment, use our tracking service, apply for a job, subscribe to our newsletter, or contact us: name, company, email address, telephone number, pickup and delivery addresses, and shipment details. Our web server also records technical data (IP address, browser type, pages visited) needed to secure and improve the website.
2. Why we process your data
We use your data to (a) perform the contract of carriage and related logistics services, (b) meet legal obligations such as customs declarations and transport documentation, (c) answer your enquiries, (d) send service notifications about your shipments, and (e) — only with your consent — send our newsletter. Tracking lookups are logged to prevent abuse and to improve our service.
3. Sharing with third parties
Shipment data is shared with the carriers, customs authorities, port and terminal operators, and delivery partners strictly to the extent necessary to move your goods. We never sell personal data. Processors acting on our behalf (hosting, email delivery) are bound by data processing agreements.
4. International transfers
Where a shipment moves outside the EEA, the data accompanying it is transferred only as required for its carriage and customs treatment, under the safeguards of Articles 44–49 GDPR.
5. Retention
Transport and customs records are retained for 7 years as required by Dutch tax and customs law. Contact form messages are kept for 2 years; newsletter data until you unsubscribe; job applications for 4 weeks after the procedure closes (or 12 months with your consent).
6. Your rights
You have the right to access, rectify, erase, and port your personal data, to restrict or object to processing, and to withdraw consent at any time. Contact us at info@vlietshipping.nl. You may also lodge a complaint with the Dutch Data Protection Authority (Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens).
